About Seat

Seat is a Spanish car company, founded 1950 with headquarter near Barcelona (Martorell), but right now fully owned by VW (Germain Volkswagen).

In translation from spanish language, SEAT means Spanish touring car company. Recordable year with number of produced cars was 2006. = 408.318. This company had 14.500 employees that year.

Seat used Italian Fiat (one of investors in Spanish car company) as inspiration for designs of new cars, for example:
- Seat Panda (Marbella) = Fiat Panda
- Seat 600 (which became symbol of Spanish automobile industry in that time) = Fiat 600
- Seat Ronda = Fiat Ritmo

This company produced 58% in total of the whole Spanish car industry, so they decided to continue on world car market. Fiat was agains’t that and that was decisive moment for breaking up 30 years long term friendship (1982.).

The first car after breaking friendship with Fiat was contraversy Seat Ronda, which was just like Fiat Ritmo.

After they broke up, VW signed friendship contract with Seat, after that became biggest investitors, and after that fully owners of Seat car company (1990.).
